For most of his life, Stan believed his father to be a top secret agent in "Con Heir". * Jack Smith (voiced by Daran Norris) - Jack Smith is Stan's real father. Roger is a hedonistic alcoholic who takes on make believe personas and makes the Smith family's life extremely difficult with his vices. Stan feels he "owes Roger life" after being saved by the alien at Area 51 some years ago. If the CIA were to find out about Stan hiding the alien, he would lose his job, his family, and his life. Stan Smith needs to keep Roger hidden from the world. * Roger (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) - Roger is an alien who lives in the Smith family's attic. He stays in a fishbowl in the Smith's home. * Klaus Heissler (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) - Klaus was once an East German Olympic ski-jumper until his mind was transferred into the body of a goldfish during the 1986 Winter Olympics by the CIA to prevent him from winning the gold medal. He has also come into conflict with Stan, who wants Steve to follow in his footsteps. * Steve Smith (voiced by Scott Grimes) - Stan and Francine's fourteen-year-old son. She is in favor of gun control, helps the homeless and is a marijuana user. She is eighteen and attends community college. * Hayley Smith (voiced by Rachael MacFarlane) - Stan and Francine's daughter. Despite her ditzy personality, she demonstrates a keen wild streak and she has a flirty nature. Francine is an enabler, usually going along with the actions of the family, though she occasionally serves as the voice of reason. * Francine Smith (voiced by Wendy Schaal) - Stan's wife and mother of Steve and Hayley. He is also Francine's husband and Hayley and Steve's father. * Stan Smith (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) - The main character of American Dad who is a CIA agent and Conservative.
